As a vocalist, Katia specializes in soul, r&b and jazz. She is a gifted vocalist with a passion for bringing energy and soul to her performance. She aims to bring emotional authenticity to every song, and strives to bring people together through the universal experience of music. Her influences include Aretha Franklin, Ella Fitzgerald, Eva Cassidy, and Bonnie Raitt, to name a few.

As an actor, Katia is creative, dynamic and flexible. A physical performer, she is also great with improv, accents, and caricatures. Katia has worked extensively in Musical Theatre, Theatre for Social Change, Theatre of the Oppressed, and physical theatre. She has also done work in Commedia, puppetry, and improv. Katia is also a skilled dancer with years of training in ballet, tap, jazz, modern, hip-hop, and ballroom dance.

As a teaching artist, she strives to empower youth to find their own voice, and give them the tools they need to express themselves through theatre. She works with students of all ages, teaching them introductory theater skills, improv games, and addressing real life issues through role-playing and scene work. Her main focus is on building community and confidence, and mastering performance skills.
